OBSCURA Logotype Project
In this project, I designed a logotype and brand identity for a fictional airline. Working on this helped me to develop my skills in brand design and logo development, as well as a better understanding of colour theory.
The colour scheme of my 'Obscura' logo was chosen after I researched some of the least flown airlines in the world, as well as which colours represent quality and luxury. Many less flown airlines use a similar red and white colour scheme as this indicates they are trustworthy and reliable. I created the 'wing' icon next to the logotype by taking the letter A from the logo and using the part where the curved line slices through. This icon represents the rear wing of the plane and is a common element of airline logos. By placing this icon to the left of the logo, I was able to create the silhouette of an airplane within the logo itself, with the curved line becoming the body of the plane.
